Steve Weinstein, MD, FACS, FASMBS
Dr. Steve Weinstein, FACS joined Surgical Association in 1975 and is currently the senior partner. He is a native of Jasper, Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Chemistry in 1965. Dr. Weinstein served our country as a Lt. Colonel in the National Guard from 1970 to 1991.
Jeff Hannon, MD, FACS, FASMBS
Dr. Jeff Hannon is a native of Mississippi and joined Surgical Association in 1989 after his surgical residency He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, and serves as Assistant Professor of Surgery, College of Medicine, for the University of South Alabama.
Dan Lane, MD, FACS, FASMBS
Dr. Dan Lane, FACS is a native Mobilian. Dr. Lane is a general and bariatric surgeon and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, and serves as the clinical assistant professor of surgery for the College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama.
Forrest Ringold, MD, FACS, FASMBS
Dr. Forrest Ringold, FACS is a native Alabamian. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, and is a clinical instructor for the Department of Surgery at University of South Alabama. He previously served on the board of the Medical Society of Mobile County.
Dusty Smith, MD, FACS
Dr. Dusty Smith is a native of Bay Minette, Alabama. Dr. Smith graduated from the University of South Alabama Medical School in 2007 and then completed her surgical residency at USAMC in 2012. Dr. Smith is certified by the American Board of Surgery and awaits induction into the American College of Surgeons.
Barry D. Ballard, MD
Dr. Barry D. Ballard is a native Mobilian and joined SAMPA in 2016. He graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University in 2006. He then graduated from the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine in 2011 and completed his general surgery residency at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in June 2016.
Gregory Quatrino, MD
Dr. Gregory Quatrino focuses on diseases of the colon and rectum. After successful completing his residency as Administrative Chief Resident at University of South Alabama, where he is also on the Burn and Trauma Peer Review Committee, he is currently pursuing a fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery.
Our Nurses
Rachael Rutledge, CRNP
Rachael Rutledge, CRNP joined Surgical Association in March 2009. Rachael received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2004 and her Masters of Nursing in Science in 2008 from the University of South Alabama. She is certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
Jill Hawkins, CRNP
Jill Hawkins, CRNP received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Mobile in 1996 and her Masters of Nursing in Science from the University of South Alabama in 2010. Jill is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Claudia Fantucci, CRNP
Claudia joined SAMPA in July 2019. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2013 from Cumberland University and recently graduated from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Troy University. Her extensive experience includes time in the Emergency, Telemetry, Neurological, Orthopedics, and Medical-Surgical departments.
